You may have seen in the News some information about GP Practices and collective action. This is not the same as industrial action and means that participants do not go on strike.

Mortimer Medical Practice are participating in collective action, this is to ensure safety for staff and patients. The Practice is still open and seeing patients and you can continue to book your appointment through us.

We will be triaging any requests and may direct you to appropriate alternative services in accordance with your need – this is called care navigation. Should we reach our ‘on the day’ GP appointment availability, updates will be provided on our telephone lines, website and social media.

However, the Practice will continue to assess any requests and direct them as appropriate and ensure that patients needs are being met. If you have an appointment, you should attend as usual, unless you are told otherwise.

Patients can use 111 online for non-urgent health needs, and only use 999 if it is a serious or life-threatening emergency. For more
information on when to call 999 and when to go to A&E, you can visit the NHS UK website NHS website for England – NHS
