Getting your test results
If your test results show that you need more tests or treatment, we will contact you.
Once a doctor has reviewed your test results, you can view them:
- in your NHS account (through the NHS website or NHS App)
- in your Patient Access account
- phone or visit us between 10am to 4pm and we will tell you what the results are
Most results are back in 2-7 days but xrays and cervical screening may take up to three weeks (if you have not received a cervical screening test result within three months please contact the surgery).
To ensure confidentiality, we only release results to the patient, unless alternative arrangements have been agreed with a doctor beforehand. The receptionist will only be able to state that a result is normal or that you need to speak to a doctor. Please do not expect receptionists to provide other information regarding the test.
